Richmond County Genealogical Society


The Richmond County Genealogical Society was founded April 7, 2008.  The society provides professional research into the genealogical aspects of life in Richmond County since its formation in 1779.

The offices and libraries are located on the second floor of the Leak-Wall House, 405 E. Washington St., Rockingham, NC.  They have no telephone and are open by appointment only.  Their postal mail address is:

For minimal research, there is no charge however donations are always welcomed.  The society charges $25 per hour for general research with 15-cents per page for copies.Fees for copies of legal documents and postage will be charged at going rates.

 

 

If you have an estate being settled and you have some paper records that you don’t know what to do with, contact the Richmond County Genealogical Society, they may be genealogically important!  The society welcomes donations of old family photographs, portraits, documents, family Bibles, family histories, short stories, and of course money.  Such donations will be preserved and used for future research.
